November Cold Storage Report
(December 21, 2007) November butter stocks totaled 143.3 million pounds, according to the USDA’s latest Cold Storage report issued this afternoon, down 53.3 million pounds or 27 percent from October, but 35.2 million or 33 percent above those in November 2006. October butter stocks were revised up 1.2 million pounds from last month's previous estimate.
American type cheese totaled 508.2 million pounds, down 12.3 million pounds or 2 percent from October, and 11.5 million pounds or 2 percent below a year ago. October stocks were revised up slightly.
The total cheese inventory for November is 785.4 million pounds, down 5.9 million pounds or 1 percent from October but unchanged from a year ago. October stocks were revised down 2.3 million pounds.
